Uninstall or downgrade the Adobe Flash Player plug-in
Some people have problems running older Flash files on the new Flash Player 10. To downgrade the plug-in to an older version, you first have to uninstall the current plug-in:

somehow when i try to install the older version i end up installing the latest flash player y is this so?

This is strange. Did you really install the right player? If you are going on a site with an embedded swf file, which need the newest flashplayer, then you may not install it.
